Hello friends. First off, let me apologize for my severe lack of posting lately. Overtime at work followed by a couple of blizzards along with a very bad cold has kept me from some good blogging time and photography lately. Since I couldn’t spend much time outside I decided to dig through some old photo albums…
For those who don’t know me, I grew up in Colorado. On an acreage. With a cowboy-of-a-dad. So naturally that makes me a country girl. I came across these photos from a couple of years ago. These clothes were from my very first collection before I graduated college. “Grass Roots” is what I named it.
That day I dragged my twin sister out to our front yard (yes, that was our front yard) to take some photos. I wanted to capture the essence of the inspiration behind this collection and what better way than to grab my country-sister and photograph her in the field where we grew up. There is just such a humble and simple way about country living. Laid-back, little worries, and outdoor peace. I wanted this collection to represent my upbringing. And my twin sis did a pretty good job of showing it.
This is how we lived. Pure country.
