More memories from Crete. These photos don’t even scratch the surface of everything we did on the island, particularly when we had a car. The weekend was our recess and we wanted to roam. And four curious girls with a rental car spells a-d-v-e-n-t-u-r-e. There was so much we wanted to explore and we had one weekend to squeeze everything in.

I love driving a car in a new place. Especially with friends. We didn’t know where we were headed half the time but every wrong turn and every flip-around just made the ride more fun. We were blaring music, driving with the windows down, following a map, getting lost, and exploring endless roads. It seemed like we drove everywhere that weekend. We shopped in Spili, strolled through the historic ruins in Phaistos, grabbed lunch and visited friends in Agia Galini, and searched everywhere for Palm Beach. I loved everything about this island. The people, the food, the language, the sand, the secret beaches, the laid-back lifestyle… It was all beautifully overwhelming.

The other thing I loved was the restless spirit that the four of us had together. We wanted to wake up early [despite the terrible hangovers from the night before] and see as much as possible. We wanted to drive everywhere and explore everything. We didn’t waste any time. Every destination was a goal for the day and every stop in between was go-go-go! We visited so many amazing places but some of my favorite moments was simply being in the car and driving around with my friends.

More and more photos to come…I ain’t done yet! xo
