“The mountains are calling and I must go to them.”
– John Muir
Today was spent at a Colorado gem. Hanging Lake. This is my favorite hike and today just seemed like a fitting day to go. And it is always worth the 3 hour drive, fighting wait for a parking spot, 1 mile steep hike, and thinning air as you climb up. I know I’m making it sound horrible – maybe that’s my secret intention to keep it “hidden”. It definitely was not hidden today. The times that I have gone before, there were only a couple of other people around. But not today. Ah well.
My mister did a swell job at capturing the way that I know Hanging Lake – beautiful, serene, and tourist-free. Just as it should be. I will always love this special place.
Happy Labor Day!
