“I’m restless. Things are calling me away. My hair is being pulled by the stars again.”
– Anais Nin

I just got back from Costa Rica with Renae, one of my best girlfriends. Our time spent in Costa Rica has been lingering over my head, making me completely restless. Renae and I have traveled together on most of my recent trips, and I love how this particular trip happened. A couple of months ago when I told her that I was going to Costa Rica [alone], I wasn’t at all surprised when she decided to join. We were sitting in her kitchen eating soup and drinking wine and it was such a simple and immediate decision for her – she wanted in. And she was perfect company.

We found the perfect cabina on Airbnb near Playa Conchal. We rented a car and roamed along the west side of Guanacaste with only a map to guide us. We were tucked in the small town of Matapalo and were walking distance from some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We ate casado every night. We lived in our bikinis. We spent almost every morning with Doug, the nearly domesticated coati that hung around the house. We surfed in Tamarindo. We went zip lining through the rain forest. I wish I could recap everything that we did, but then I’ll just drown in nostalgia and probably end up booking a one-way ticket back to Costa Rica. That’s actually not a bad idea…

There are certain places that stick with you. This will be one of them. I usually think that this world is too intriguing to visit the same place twice, but I know I will go back. Costa Rica was beautifully overwhelming with culture. I love the way the people live such a simple, uncomplicated life. They can get by with the basics and be perfectly happy. They spend their time outdoors. They love the ocean. Every person I met was kind and generous and warm. I was fascinated by it. Pura vida. Pure life. <3

  1. Hello! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which
blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of
Wordpress because I’ve had problems with hackers and
I’m looking at alternatives for another platform.

I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
