TIME OUT

We stumbled upon this dreamy valley when we were struggling to find parking for Muir Woods. We knew it was risky to visit on a Saturday, along with the rest of the world, and what seemed to be an endless road taking us further and further away from the entrance eventually brought us to this place. I jumped out of the car and asked my sis to snap some photos. It was kind of majestic and picturesque and we were the only ones there. The only thing that could have made it better was maybe a white horse and a picnic.

I love places like this though. I am not a city person. Country girl all the way. Don’t get me wrong, I love visiting and galavanting around – but after a while it can get overwhelming and I get bored of concrete. Gotta escape back to nature, ya know? Into places like this. A time-out from city chaos. I will never forget this special place.

old and new

Floral Maxi Skirt | Pink’s Denver
Strappy Block Heels | Franco Sarto
Nude Bodysuit | H&M
Suede Moto Jacket | BNCI by Blanc Noir
Amelia Sling Purse | Be&D
Sunglasses | Urban Outfitters

I specifically planned this look for the farmer’s market at the Ferry Building this past weekend. It’s common for us fashionistas to coordinate our outfit based on where we’re going, but this look was randomly thrown together and then saved for Saturday morning. A mix of old & new, I picked up the Pink’s maxi skirt and Franco Sarto block heels right before the trip; the moto jacket, sunglasses, and Amelia sling have been living in my closet for a while. I sat on the floor in my bedroom with a glass of wine and threw it together, simply inspired by what I would want to wear at the farmer’s market. And here it is. Ta-Da!

It’s February and it’s 71 degrees in Denver. I am wearing a swim top and a t-shirt on my head [which is what my fiance does to keep his forehead from burning. I find it adorable and I’m trying to turn it into a fashion statement]. I suppose I’m training for summer but I know that winter is not done with us yet… But while winter is taking a nap, I’m taking full advantage to get me a tan!! Me need it bad.

Holla Days

[top: VICI Collection | belt: Buffalo Exchange | skirt: littlelace]

My Christmas Eve outfit was a bit more unconventional this year. It consisted of a “Happy Holla Days” tank (had to), boho skirt, and legit cowgirl belt that I scored from a consignment store. All completed with cowgirl boots. But I also noticed that my wardrobe becomes more daring when I travel. I spent Christmas in Queenstown, New Zealand with the family + fiancé, which was perfect, because New Zealand was on my bucket list and I got to cross it off right before the end of 2016. Mastered procrastination right thurrr!

I also became obsessed with Lake Wakatipu, which is a stunning inland lake surrounded by The Remarkables mountain range. And Queenstown was the most quaint mountain town which got to benefit from the incredible views. My brother-in-law calls it “Vail on steroids”. Totally accurate.

The day was spent with good food, loving people, and lots of picture-taking. Seriously, my eyeballs were on overdrive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful place. The Remarkables totally put the Rocky Mountains to shame…

Cheers to everyone from down under. Happy Holla Days, y’all!

[jumper: Swell]

I’ve been a little obsessed with jumpers and rompers lately. They’re effortless, minimal, and a speedy outfit choice without having to overthink anything. [There’s a catch though… Going to the bathroom sucks] I’ve got 8-9 pieces in my closet right now and I’m slowly collecting more. I scored this Tavik romper ON SALE and basically spent the entire weekend living in it. The romper was the perfect outfit for a Saturday backyard party, and then transitioned to a night downtown with some pointed flats and a leather jacket. I would have slept in it. I almost wore it to Sunday brunch the next day but I thought it would be a bit “much”. No one likes an outfit repeater. Which only means more rompers!
